Ferny Creek Farmhouse Kitchen
A bold and contemporary project we adore is the beautiful Ferny Creek farmhouse kitchen designed by Lynette Yannakakis at Smith & Smith Kitchens. Featured in Kitchen & Bathrooms Quarterly Vol. 29, the project shows just how versatile a combination of design styles can be.
Smith & Smith describe the project:
“A fusion of modern and classic elements that this kitchen elegantly combines through colour and pared-back traditional elements”.
Smith and Smith achieved this through a beautiful renovation using a custom navy and brass colour scheme, paired with black and white elements, creating a home that oozes contemporary vibes and ensures the kitchen stays fresh and modern.
“When the homeowners approached Smith & Smith, they were after a kitchen redesign that celebrated bold tones, maximised space and complemented their cottage-style home.”
We certainly agree, the combination of brass elements against the bold navy shaker-style cabinetry and natural marble is simply stunning and guaranteed to remain timeless for generations. Our Gallant knobs in brushed brass paired with matching brass taps, really adds a touch of luxury to the space and complements the natural marble and white fluted butler’s sink.
To expand the space even more, Smith & Smith Kitchens removed a wall and replaced it with a slider door to create a functional butler’s pantry and laundry area, offering excellent storage and ensuring there is plenty of space in the main area for entertaining.
The brass handles work perfectly in this space with the warm timber tones. This combination is elegant and modern. A look which will stay relevant for many years to come.

Available in 3 stunning finishes, Brushed Brass, Dull Brushed Nickel and Matt Black, the Gallant door knob has been designed to use in conjunction with the matching handle, or you can even mix and match with pull handles from our other ranges due it’s versatility and simple, sleek profile.
The Gallant knob measures 32mm wide and the handles are available in 160mm and 320mm lengths.
